General Eruv Boundaries
Note – this map is a generalized overview and is not updated or maintained with actual boundaries. Do not rely on this map for Shabbos use. If a community member or visitor needs access to detailed eruv boundaries, please contact us. We do not publicly post this information.
Please use the embedded Google Map below to view the highlighted general Portland Eruv boundaries. You can also access it here. If you have a smartphone or Google account, you can save this map to your personal maps so you can access it anytime (well, almost – 24/6ish), anywhere (that you have cell reception).
The Portland Eruv has a main Eruv with several independent smaller eruvin that crossover to the main Eruv. This allows those who hold by Eruv to engage and carry in the community and create a stronger sense of achdus among klal yisrael.
- The Blue area is the Main Eruv (Eruv א).
- The Red area is the Hamilton-19th Eruv (Eruv ב).
- The Orange area is the Multnomah-Hume Eruv (Eruv ג).
Main Eruv (א)
Utilizes tel hamislaket and utility poles with city wires and our own lechis at bottom of poles where needed.
Hamilton-19th Eruv Addition (ב)
Eruv א and Eruv ב only intersect at specific locations. The best location to cross SW Beaverton Hillsdale HWY is between Hillsdale Terrace and before SW 27th Ct. The safest crossing location is at SW 30 Ave, which also features a traffic light at crosswalk. The two boundaries also meet on SW Capitol HWY. Other locations are either not safe or are outside the Eruv. Most tochuv wires in Eruv ב do not have lechis.
Multnomah-Hume Eruv Addition (ג)
The boundary on Multnomah is flush to Eruv א boundary and one can cross at any point. The road on 37th Ave is inside Eruv ג. On Hume the boundary sometimes crosses the street so caution is advised. The road on 25th Ave is not in the Eruv and parts of the sidewalk may also not be in the Eruv, so please be careful.
